The GMAT Test

The official name of the GMAT is the Graduate Management Admission Test. When you apply for admission to MBA programs, most schools require that you take the GMAT. The test is 210 minutes long and there are four components :

  • Analytical Writing Assessment – 1 Essay Question: 30 minutes.
  • Integrated Reasoning – 12 Questions: 30 minutes.
  • Quantitative – 37 Questions: 75 minutes.
  • Verbal – 41 Questions: 75 minutes.

The GMAT is a challenging test that measures your abilities in a wide variety of skills. To do well on the AWA you must be able to think critically and communicate in writing. The Integrated Reasoning questions will require you to carefully evaluate data from multiple sources and in multiple formats. The Quantitative test measures your abilities in mathematical reasoning, while the Verbal test evaluates your skills in reading, grammar, and comprehension.
